November e-newsletter
Dear Devotees,
The Hindu Society of Nevada e-newsletter is sent in the last week of every month and details the activities scheduled at the Temple. For the latest information, Please always check the Temple website www.hindutemplelv.org.
Durga Ashtami:
We thank all the devotees who contributed a total of $2,100 during the 10 day Navarathri celebrations at our Temple. Sincere thanks to our volunteers Neeru Piplani, Savita Kaushal, Bharti Sharma and Saroj Chatterjee for ensuring the success of this program. Thanks to Bharti Gupta for sponsoring the food for all devotees during Durga Ashtami.
Dusheera Mela:
This year's event was the most successful mela we have ever had. There was an unusually high turnout, despite the weather. The dedication of the food volunteers was great. 100% of the food prepared by all the food volunteers was sold out by 7:30 pm. The vendors made some money as well unlike previous years. This event was so successful that the administration is considering having a second mela each year in the spring.
We were able to raise $10,021, which is a 40% increase from last year.
A great deal of 'behind the scenes' work takes place to make such an event successful. We greatly appreciate all the hard work put in by the following volunteers.
Our thanks also to all the Food Volunteers who donated their time and prepared the food that generated funds for the Temple.
