Volunteers needed for the Bal vihar classes
The Hindu Society of Nevada is pleased to announce that we will be working towards establishing Chinmaya Bala Vihar for children ages 4-15. However, in order to provide our children with the same level of teaching and guidance that is currently available to children in many other cities across the United States, we must mobilize a number of committed, selfless and devoted individuals whose main focus and interest is the inculcation of this sacred value-system in our younger generation. We need volunteers (Sevaks) who are willing to:
1. Learn and love to teach children.
2. Commit time (a few hours a week) for at least one year
3. Possess some basic proficiency in recitation of Sanskrit hymns and chants. (language knowledge is not needed)
4. Take pride in our culture and traditions
5. Be trained at the Chinmaya Mission center in the Los Angeles area.
ABOUT CHINMAYA BALA VIHAR
Chinmaya Bala Vihar program offers weekly spiritual Vedanta classes for children in their formidable and moulding years (5-18 yrs). The classes are categorized by varying age groups, start and end with Sanskrit prayers, and include chanting bhajans, stories of devotion and morals, interactive discussions and creative games. Conducted worldwide, the 90-minute classes are based on specially designed syllabi.
We all know too well that culture cannot be bought, it can however be taught and if we fail, the prevailing culture will be "caught" by children.
